New Intermec CS40 Mobile Computer

Intermec's recently released CS40 is among the first in the new category of rugged smartphones that is actually encased in a smartphone form factor. Designed specifically for mobile field professionals who need productivity and reliability beyond a smart phone, the CS40 allows companies to improve their business processes, expand customer offerings, increase revenue and reduce the cost and complexity of a field mobility solution all at the point where it's needed most - on the front lines.

Factors in Choosing the Right Ribbon

As a key ingredient in any thermal transfer printing application, thermal transfer ribbons (TTR) make up a portion of the users cost to produce their labels and plays a key role in scanability and product image. Therefore the choice of ribbon is more critical than, "just any ol' ink will do".

We bring ribbons to the forefront at this point in time since the industry, worldwide, is experiencing a novelty for thermal transfer ribbons---a price increase.

Polyethylene Terephthalate or PET based films are increasing in cost. There is a combination of reasons, but most notable is the increased demand for PET base films from such industries as flat screen televisions and solar panels. As a result, production of thin PET films has not kept up with demand and costs have simultaneously increased.

Compsee provides a wide range of formulas-from basic wax to high-heat/chemical resistant resins. We assist our clients in matching the best possible formula with the substrate and can provide testing services when needed on matching supplies. We also consider environmental factors and cost when recommending a TTR formula to clients.
