Service Center Support

When you want defective devices fixed instead of replaced, Motorola/Symbol provides equipment repair at service centers around the world.

 

When your equipment is received at the nearest Motorola/Symbol Service Center depot, it is cleaned, repaired, tested, aligned and calibrated to original manufacturing specifications.  Service also includes replacement of worn or scratched parts.

 

You select the best turnaround time that works best for your business:

  • Bronze Depot - 3-Day Turnaround - 4-Hour Escalation

  • Gold Depot - Express Service * - 2-Hour Escalation

  • 8:00AM - 5:00PM

* Customer-supplied spares required.

Advanced Exchange Support

This offering is available for select products only.  Advanced Exchange is a simple, cost-effective way to manage products needing repair, particularly when you have widely dispersed facility locations.

 

You will have ready access to a pool of spare products for your Motorola/Symbol products with just a phone call to the Service Center.  If a device needs replacement, it will be shipped next business day.  You return the defective device to the Motorola/Symbol Service Center within 30 days.  You avoid the expense of purchasing and managing spare products because Motorola/Symbol owns the spares and coordinates delivery of replacements to the right locations in your enterprise.

Service from the Start

This option is currently available on the following products:

  • MC1000

  • MC3000

  • MC9000 Series

  • MC50

  • MC70

This coverage offers more service at a lower annualized price than a standard service contract.  This is a multi-year service program that must be purchased within 30 days of the product purchase.  Excluded from coverage is damage caused by natural or man-made disasters such as fires, floods and theft.

Motorola/Symbol stores and reloads software applications onto your terminals at the time of repair.

  • Comprehensive Coverage

Comprehensive coverage is part of Service from the Start.  It extends coverage to accidental breakage.  It covers normal wear and tear, as well as repairs to displays, touch screens, plastics, keypads, exit windows, and other components damaged through accidental breakage.

 

Comprehensive Coverage can be added to standard Service Center programs.

Intermec Third Party Equipment Coverage

Medallion� Service Contract Plans are available on selected non-Intermec equipment. "Gold" Second-business-day On Site and "Bronze" five-business-day Depot coverage plans are available for selected non-Intermec data collection devices, under the Intermec Multi-Vendor Product (MVP) program.

 

Intermec's Multi-Vendor Product (MVP) program helps multi-vendor data collection customers transition service coverage smoothly from alternative device brands to Intermec equipment. These customers need not worry that alternative vendors will withhold service coverage from previously-purchased alternative brand equipment once the customer has chosen Intermec for new device purchase. Having all this data collection devices under Intermec coverage allows customers to make just one call for service.

Medallion Complete provides a level of coverage beyond standard service contracts. Whereas standard contracts traditionally provide coverage for defects and failures in components and parts, Medallion Complete coverage defects and failures, but also workplace-related damage to critical data collection devices. Medallion Complete is automatically applied to devices when a 3-year Medallion Depot Service Contract plan (�Silver� or �Bronze�) or an Overnight Replacement contract (�Silver Replacement) is purchased within 30 days of the purchase of the equipment to be covered. Medallion Complete coverage comes at no extra charge.

 

With a three-year Medallion Complete agreement on eligible equipment, customers pay nothing beyond the price of the contract for repairs on covered devices for the life of the contract. Medallion Complete agreements include a variety of depot plans and an overnight advance spares replacement program, all with an unmatched 90-day guarantee on repairs:

  • Comprehensive Coverage

This service is available for Desktop and Mobile printers only.

Upgrades warranty to cover printhead replacement and physical damage repair.

  • Battery Coverage

This coverage is available for Mobile printers only.

Upgrades coverage to include a predetermined number of battery replacements.  Zebra will replace 20%, 30%, or 40% of your batteries per year when the old ones become depleted.  Minimum of 10 units required for coverage.

  • Printhead Coverage

This coverage is available for High-performance and Industrial/Commercial printers only.

Upgrades coverage to include a predetermined number of printhead replacements.  Zebra will replace 20%, 30%, or 40% of your printheads per year when the old ones become worn. Minimum of 10 units required for coverage.
