allows users to create data collection applications for all MAT
wireless mobile terminals.
The simple yet
sophisticated user interface makes developing wireless solutions both
efficient and cost-effective.
ItScriptNet OMNI
has the same great design features of ITScriptNet Batch and Batch Plus
while offering solution designers a choice of three data transfer
modes from the MAT terminal: Batch, RF, and Hybrid.
With the power,
flexibility, and ease-of-use of ITScriptNet OMNI, you an create a wide
range of data collection solutions for inventory control, asset

Features
-
Familiar User
Interface- ITScriptNet OMNI us based on the same user interface
and development platform as ITScriptNet Batch with added wireless
features and functions.
-
Multiple
Platform Support -
Applications can be written for the MAT 203/204 and the Apex III/IV
terminals
-
Batch RF, and
Hybrid Modes- Allows data transmission to the host in real-time
when connected but will store data and transmit later when not
connected.
-
Remote Lookups-
Use real-time data residing on the network to verify data or to
lookup information from any
MAT 203/204 or Apex III/IV terminal.
-
Remote
Scripts- Use your
MAT 203/204 or Apex III/IV terminal to call business logic
available on the network and receive results from the host.
-
Fast
Program Upload- Use the wireless connection to transfer
data collection programs from the server to the
MAT 203/204 or Apex III/IV with
lightning speed.

Products
- Batch
- batch data collection programs. The terminals can validate user
input using validation rules or lookup files. The collected data
can be downloaded into Text Files, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft
Access, or any ODBC-complaint source.
- Batch Plus
- extends the capabilities of data collection by adding advanced
features such as
-
multiple input elements per prompt
-
IrDA printing
-
automatic validation file
generation from ODBC data sources
-
script debugger
-
shell programs
-
integrate ITScriptNet in your
custom application by calling the terminal client using a command
line, and by embedding ITScriptNet Upload and Download ActiveX
controls in your application.

Licenses
- Developer
License - Licensed
by PC.
A Developer License is used to
develop an unlimited number of data collection programs. It is used
in conjunction with the Runtime and Terminal licenses. A License
includes the communication utilities used to load programs onto the
terminal and retrieve data from the terminal via batch mode. It
does not include the OMNI Communications Server for managing RF
communication.
-
Runtime License
- Licensed by PC.
Set of
communication utilities used to load programs onto the terminal and
retrieve data from the terminal in batch mode and RF mode through
the OMNI Communications Server running on a host PC. It is used in
conjunction with Terminal licenses
-
Terminal
-
Terminals
are required to be licensed to communicate real-time with the OMNI
Communications Server.
-
Terminal licenses
are used in conjunction with a Runtime license to communicate with a
host PC.
-
The OMNI
Configuration Utility is used to manage the Runtime and Terminal
licenses.
-
Each terminal is
assigned a client license from a pool of licenses.
-
No actual license or
serial number is loaded on the terminal. However, client software is
required to be loaded.
-
The terminal’s
MAC address is recorded in the PC software.
-
Only those MAC
addresses listed can communicate with the OMNI Communications
Server.
-
Terminal licenses
come in packs of 5, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 250, and 500. Larger packs
are negotiable.
Example: A customer wants to write their own programs.
They have 10 terminals
communicating wirelessly to a single host.
The customer would need:
1 - Omni Complete
Program that includes 5 Licenses
1 - 5 pack of
Terminal Licenses
Note:
If the customer wanted a reseller to write and maintain the programs
they would need the OMNI Runtime and an additional 5-pack of
terminal licenses.
They are using 10
terminals and have 3 areas in their warehouse that will need to host data
download stations (PC’s).
The customer would need:
1 Developer Program to write the programs
2 or 3 Runtime Programs
They would only need 2
Runtimes Programs if they can use the Developer Program at one of the
download stations. Otherwise,
3 Runtimes would be needed.
DEMO Program Limitations:
In demo mode the OMNI
Communications Server can only manage (1) program and only (1)
terminal. The terminal is limited to making 15 accesses to the OMNI
Server in RF mode. The OMNI Server can be stopped and restarted to get
a new set of 15 accesses.
In batch mode
terminals are limited to collecting and downloading just 5 records.
The data can be downloaded and deleted from the terminal to get a new
set of 5 records to collect and download.
