Compsee announces the release of Version 4.1 of Trap-ease, packed with powerful new development capabilities & easier to use.

Based on feature requests from our customers, we have increased Trap-Ease's already powerful development features and made it much easier to use. The following is a summary of the new features and capabilities that have been added to version 4.1 .

New Features in Trap-ease 4.1

• Trap-Ease Supported PDT Software Now Included
  Now with every Trap-Ease Developer or Run-Time that you buy, one PDT software module license is included for free! (This license works with any of the PDT models supported by Trap-ease.) Use this PDT module to demonstrate to your customers how easy it is to incorporate PDTs into their tracking system. To increase the number of PDT licenses, we offer a PDT 5 License Add-On.

• Enhanced Ease of Use Features
  The following features have been added to make it easier for you to use Trap-ease:
  • NEW Application Wizard walks you step-by-step through the process of creating a tracking application
  • Multiple selection of Item records from Locate Item screen makes check outs and moves fast
  • Print Label button added to Edit Item and Edit User screens so labels can be printed easily
  • Application selection drop-list added to Main Menu screen for easy access between applications

• Increased Security Options
  Trap-Ease's security features have been stepped up to provide even more options for protecting your files. In addition to the security settings included in previous versions, Trap-Ease 4.1 allows you to grant or limit access on check in/out, take out/restock, and move functions. In addition, enhanced security settings have been added for designing/printing labels and reports and for programming and retrieving data from portable data terminals. These new security features provide a completely protected system with maximum flexibility.

• Improved Report Designer Options
  Trap-Ease makes generating reports easy with these improvements to the Report Designer:
  • When checking out an item, the receipt will now list the item and all items that have been grouped with that item. For example, when you check out a folder that contains three files, the receipt lists the folder and identifies the three files that go inside it.
  • Removed the Quantity field in check in/out and move receipts for item tracking applications (the quantity is always "1").
  • Improved report formatting
  • Improved reporting ability to account for items in multiple locations
  • Added ability to print reports and receipts to a file

• New Screen Customization Options
  In addition to being able to change the Main Menu screen and toolbars, Trap-Ease 4.1 allows you to customize the Add/Modify Item and Add/Modify User screens to fit the needs of your business or application. You can now add graphics, shapes, lines and text to these commonly used screens. Trap-Ease 4.1 also allows you to set the input order for easy data entry.

• Flexible Setup of Inventory Applications
  A new negative inventory option is now available so you can easily track the number of a particular item on back order.

• New Label Generation Options
  In addition to being able to design a label using the Item, User, Location, and PDT data files, the label design capabilities have been extended to include access to the Transaction data file. This allows integration with other systems using bar codes.

• Enhanced Portable Data Terminal Integration
  Trap-Ease's increased Portable Data Terminal (PDT) integration allows even more flexibility for remote tracking:
  • Added a batch data sequencer to ensure all data is retrieved into the main program by the time and date of the transaction -- no matter how many PDTs are in use
  • Missing item reports can be printed after performing a physical inventory
  • PDT transactions are viewable prior to accepting them into the main Trap-Ease program
  • Data retrieved from the PDT can now be saved to a file for archival purposes
  • The one-time PDT firmware programming steps have been built into Trap-Ease allowing easier PDT set up
