SUBJECT: Apex II - Program Generator Y2K Update
COMMUNIQUE: 227
DATE: 05-27-99
If you are using programs created with the Program Generator 3.0 or higher to date stamp four digit dates you will experience an incorrect century stamp if the Apex II is operating (under program control) during the actual transition from December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000. The Apex II will report the century date as 1900 instead of 2000 .
To ensure correct operation during the date transition period we have developed a new set of Library Files for the Program Generator that will prevent this condition from occurring. This update can be used with Program Generator Version 3.xx or higher and can be loaded and verified anytime between now and the century transition. This condition does not occur with Apex II Basic Programs written manually (without the Program Generator).
To correct this date transition situation, the user can simply copy all files contained in the file V34_libs.zip into their Apex Program Generator folder and restart the Program Generator. The user can then re-generate their original MAP files to produce programs that will accommodate the year 2000 date transition correctly.
