Compsee announces the release of Version 1.32a Operating System for the Apex II Portable Data Terminal with 128K FLASH memory configurations.

This new release provides improved terminal operation in two different areas. Those areas include:

Details for each improvement is as follows:

1. PEEK Range Check Correction
This problem was first discovered when PEEK-ing data from a file and comparing it with the data READ from the file. It was noticed that several blocks of PEEK data did not correspond with the READ data.

The correct implementation of the range check is incorporated in version 2.17b.

2. Algorithm Enhancements
Enhancements were made to the UPC, Code 128 and Matrix 2 of 5 Apex II symbology algorithms

Availability of Version 1.32a

To enable these useful new features, simply download for free from Compsee's web site version 1.32a of the Apex II Operating System. Then load the new operating system into your Apex II.

Instructions are included in with the Operating System Upgrade for specifics on syntax and technical instruction on how to access this area of memory.

NOTE: Make sure that all files have been retrieved/downloaded prior to an operating system update. The update will overwrite all programs and files in the unit.

How to determine is your unit is an "a or "b" -

Put the unit into immediate Mode
Alt C
Alt D
QUIT
ENTER
To obtain the version and operating systems level
Alt V (the information will be displayed for 2 seconds)
To restart the program
Alt R
