Founded in 1976, Comtec Information Systems, Inc., was among the first in the industry to recognize and address the growing need for high-speed communications. Originally specializing in Paper to Magnetic tape converters, Comtec�s Dial-O-Verter system was data processing�s first computer communications terminal and was adopted by dozens of Fortune 500 companies.

Comtec then turned its attention to data collection and transmission. The Data-Verter and Porta-Verter data collection systems enabled field personnel, for the first time, to enter orders, inventory data, and other time-critical information from remote locations. This data was then transmitted to central processing facilities for immediate availability to the main system.

At the forefront in the development of short-range radio frequency and Infra Red data communications, Comtec offers the smallest and lightest portable printers available today.
