NetVision Phone
|
Symbol Technologies' NetVision® Phone adds voice communication
to Spectrum24® wireless LAN installations allowing simultaneous
voice and data support on the same wireless backbone.
The NetVision® Phone system provides on-site wireless
voice communication capability, and allows for integration
into an existing phone system (via a gateway) for internal
and external voice communication.
|
Employing Voice-Over-IP technology, based on the ITU standard
H.323, the NetVision®
Phone converts analog voice into compressed digital packets that
are sent via sent via
TCP/IP protocol over standard data networks.
Communicate at the Speed of Business
With business moving faster every day to keep pace with customers
and competitors, communication is a tool of ever-increasing strategic
importance. The ability to send voice and data over one wireless
network can result in significant savings and allows for the development
of new applications that increase productivity and provide better
customer service. Here are just a few of the NetVision® Phone
highlights.
NetVision® Phone Highlights
· Addressing
The NetVision® Phone uses TCP/IP addressing that can be tied
to an extension number or a name directory.
· Dialing
The Phone supports a variety of dialing mechanisms. These include:
· Multiple Conversations
Two concurrent conversations can be supported by the Phone. The
user switches between calls using the "HOLD" key. The
model operates much like "call waiting" on a conventional
phone.
· Intercom Mode
The Phone supports broadcast to any number of other phones, or
an open channel or two-way communication. In this mode a user
may "broadcast" a message to any number of other phones.
· Connecting to a Phone System
The NetVision® Phone is designed to work with your existing
phone system via a gateway which is connected using a standard
analog extension. The use of a gateway allows you to customize
your NetVision Phone® system to provide access to phone system
features, desktop phones, outside lines, and to send voice over
Wide Area Net work data communications.
One More Way Spectrum24® is the Network Solution
The NetVision® Phone is one more reason why Symbol's Spectrum24
Wireless LAN is today's solution for greater productivity, customer
satisfaction and profitability. Symbol systems are critical to
business success in data-intensive, time-critical environments
because our systems enable you to capture, access and manage information
at the point of activity.
