      CCD Wedge 300

Integrated CCD Scanner and Keyboard Wedge

      INPUT OPTIONS:

    • Bar Code Input via the Laser Reader
    • Magnetic Stripe Input via the MSR Port
    • The CCD Wedge 300 combines the durability and value of a CCD scanner, the ergonomics shape and ease of use of a laser scanner, and the flexibility and mobility of the Compsee keyboard wedge.

The CCD Wedge 300 has been designed with the user in mind. Utilizing advanced optics, you will achieve incredible first time read rates at a working distance ranging from contact to 4 inches. With its lightweight, ergonomic design and superb balance, you will realize day-long handling comfort.

The CCD Wedge 300 is built with 100% solid state components and no moving mechanical parts, making it not only lightweight, but also extremely durable. Using LED illumination, the CCD's read rate is not affected by surrounding sunlight or fluorescent lighting conditions.

The on-board keyboard wedge gives the CCD Wedge 300 flexibility, both in user programmability and terminal connectivity. Since data input emulates the keyboard, no systems software changes are needed. This all-in-one package is ideal for applications requiring plug-and-play bar code input.

Simple programming via menus allow the user to customize the unit to match the keyboard input required by their present software. The user can verify the input data to inhibit invalid data, as well as format the data to match screen input. The CCD Wedge 300 is designed to eliminate as much as possible the manual entry of data.

The unique cable design for the CCD Wedge 300 allows for connection of a magnetic swipe reader for applications requiring keyboard entry of both bar code and magnetic stripe (credit card) data.

The CCD Wedge 300 consists of 3 major components all built into an ergonomic hand held unit:

Scanner: A hand held, non-contact CCD scanner featuring
advanced optics, a durable solid state scan
engine and an easy-to-hold, natural grip,
                        ergonomically designed housing.
Decode: Onboard bar code decoding, including user
programmability to qualify and edit the data.
Keyboard Wedge: The CCD Wedge simply plugs in between the
keyboard and display sending data to the
display as if it were keyed. The keyboard
                        remains active at all times.
