WaveLink® Studio
WaveLink® Studio is a comprehensive development suite with
a complete set of host-driven tools that help you create and run
your own high-quality wireless applications easily and cost-efficiently.
The applications you create with WaveLink Studio can run concurrently
without modification on both Spectrum One® or Spectrum24®
networks, saving you time and valuable resources.
WaveLink Studio provides host-driven applications that simplify
revision control and give total control over all remote devices.
Wireless devices can be optimized for increased productivity and
real-time performance.
It Speaks Your Language
WaveLink Studio tools are geared to today's complex thin-client,
client/server architectures and help simplify the development
task. It includes an ActiveX Class Library which can be used with
development environments that support OLE automation, including
Visual Basic,® Visual C++,® and Visual FoxPro.
Since applications are developed within the popular Windows NT®/
Windows® 95 environment, information is presented within a
familiar and very intuitive interface. With over 150 methods and
objects, WaveLink Studio enables developers to easily control
the features of the wireless terminal and create efficient, powerful
application packages. And, since you're already speaking the same
language, you're operating at a near-zero learning curve.
Develop and Run Applications Directly from the Host
With WaveLink Studio, applications are developed and run directly
from your host, so revisions to a wireless application can be
made from one convenient location, eliminating the need to update
each individual device on the network. Changes to applications
are easy and deployment is immediate!
What's more, WaveLink Studio takes a multi-processed approach
that gives each user his or her own separate application instance.
Therefore, multi-user management is handled by the software. Applications
can be designed with only a single user in mind rather thanmultiple
users competing for common resources. This makes programming less
problematic while improving individual run-time performance. For
added convenience, multiple WaveLink servers can be administered
on a local host as well as remote hosts.
Everything You Need for Wireless Application Development Mastery
WaveLink Studio provides a complete environment to build
and deploy feature-rich applications on a Spectrum One®
or Spectrum24® wireless network. The WaveLink
Studio includes:
- WaveLink Development Library for OLE-based Dynamic
Link Library integration of Symbol wireless networks and
devices, using object-oriented languages such as Visual
Basic, Visual C++ and others.
- WaveLink Serverfor executing application software
on the host platform
