The Apex VM-1 fixed-mount terminal was designed with
industrial features - so industrial that it was a natural for use
in applications like forklifts and other material handling vehicles.
RF Ethernet wireless network connectivity, waterproof shock
and vibration mounting accessories, and power supplies suitable
for vehicles - gasoline, diesel, natural gas, or all-electric - are
available, so you can install this terminal on virtually any vehicle.
The industrial case - with � VGA screen, full keyboard and
weatherproof sealing - along with state-of-the-art Windows CE
operating system and all the additional features that you have come

Automated Data Collection Options
- Built-in bar code decoder is standard - use low-cost undecoded laser scanners, bar code wands, and external slot readers
- One laser port
- One bar code wand or wand emulation scanner port
- One 5-pin bar code slot reader port
- Keyboard emulation devices (barcode wedges) can be used on the standard PS/2 keyboard port

The Vehicle-mount Apex VM-1 comes RF Ethernet-ready. Simply install one of the
supported IEEE802.11b PCMCIA wireless Ethernet cards - including Symbol
Spectrum-24 and Cisco/Aironet, among others - and connect the antenna cable
to the card. Use the included antenna, or connect your vehicle-mounted antenna to
the terminal's antenna mount.
Display Options
- Your choice of integral backlit LCD displays:
- Monochrome � VGA (640 pixels wide by 240 pixels high) backlit LCD is standard
- Color � VGA 640 x 240 backlit LCD is optional
- Terminals with monochrome screens are particularly well suited for outdoor applications and in direct lighting situations. The monochrome LCD is a reflective technology with very high contrast when viewed in direct light.
- Operational temperature range is determined by the display option chosen. Without the display heater, the temperature range for monochrome is -10C to 50C; color is 10C to 40C.
