PowerTrack Biometric Application for Time Capture
Compsee, a software developer and systems integrator of mobile data collection solutions, has announced the general availability of the PowerTrack Biometric Application for time capture. This newest member of the PowerTrack family effectively converts a Windows-based laptop computer into a biometric time clock. With the addition of a USB-connected fingerprint reader, workers can be clocked in and off the job site by simply placing their finger on the reader. No badges to read or employee ID’s to enter. The clock in and out records, as well as any job changes, will be communicated to the PowerTrack server in real time.
As companies scrutinize their labor activities, more and more are choosing biometric solutions to assure the integrity of their labor time accounting. Fingerprint reading has proven to be one of the most accurate and reliable technologies for employee authentication.
According to Mike Kapp, Compsee’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, “the new application complements our rugged biometric time clocks which have been a component of our PowerTrack system for many years. This addition provides a more mobile alternative at an attractive cost. The windows-based platform also provides us much flexibility to add additional features that might not be possible in a traditional time clock.”
The PowerTrack biometric application supports several optional features in its initial release, including employee photos, job entry and changes, clock out questions, and multi-lingual capability.
